Community Based Partner

Aniceta Kiriga

Founder of the Tharaka Women's Welfare Program and the Alternative Rite of Passage. Formulated in 1996, the Tharaka Women's Welfare Project in Gatunga, Kenya was designed to educate girls on the health risks of female genital mutilation (FGM) through monthly meetings and an annual Alternative Rite of Passage.

Lesley Sager

Founder of the Merry-Go-Strong and Teaching Faculty at The University of Wisconsin-Madison, Lesley believes in the premise that good design has the power to change people’s lives.  Design happens everywhere and that the focus is always on the people we are designing for and with.

As the community outreach facilitator. Aseneth is passionate about serving the community, and finds joy in working with the young girls and their parents to embracing positivity in their attitudes towards women and literacy.
